See how Denton Vacuum has pioneered thin film for 6 decades.
Moorestown, New Jersey, March 1, 2012 – Denton Vacuum LLC, a global leader in thin film deposition production systems, announced today that in the past ninety days it had successfully completed on-site customer acceptance testing for two of the company’s Integrity® series coating systems for large-scale advanced optics. These systems – one for a European concern and the second for a North American company – are the largest of their kind ever built by Denton and unique in their ability to deposit the large area, precise, multi-layer optical films required for leading edge astronomical and related applications. Each system included multiple e-beam and thermal evaporation sources, ion sources for ion beam assisted deposition, integrated optical monitors to characterize films on a real-time basis, and a process chamber more than two and a half meters square enabling deposition on a single optic two meters or more in size.
Rod Moore, President of Denton Vacuum, commented that “Denton is more and more focused on meeting unique customer production needs. These large, complex systems demonstrate how we develop and deliver solutions to our customers’ most challenging production requirements.
Both Integrity® systems were built in Denton’s Moorestown, NJ facility, and in the case of the unit shipped to a European customer, Denton managed the complex logistics chain needed to successfully transport and install the system at the customer’s remote facility.
